Seattle II Scorecards

May 14, Seattle II won the toss and decided to bat, on a batting track, on an overcast day. The game started half hour late due to scheduling mishap. For this reason, the overs were cut short from 45 to 40. Damn soccer players. Great batting from Fahad 53 and slower but smarter Bunto 21. First wicket fell in the 25th over. This gave remaining batsmen confidence to play their shots in the overs left. Raja, a new player, scored a quick 33. Zia 36 played sensibly with Naveed 11 to take Seattle to a comfortable score of 207. Gulli and Naveed opened the bowling. Abbotsford starting their batting with a fury of shorts. Gulli bowled his best and took the top three wickets for 15 runs. Anwar bowled excellent 6 overs taking 2 wickets. Abbotsford tried harder to keep up the run rate but lost their wicket at a faster rate and were all out for 122. Seattle II gets their first victory.

Seattle B Scorecards

On May 8, Seattle B beat Redmond Colts in a low scoring game at Ron Regis Park. Seattle B reached the target of 96 set by Redmond Colts for the loss of five wickets in 33.4 overs. On an unpredictable wicket, all batsmen needed to work hard to accumulate runs. Mark Brearley (43) and Mansoor Bhati (26) enjoyed a 67 run partnership that guided Seattle B to the victory. Both teams bowled well and took their catches on a wicket that rewarded tight and accurate bowling. The result on Sunday provides Seattle B with consecutive wins to begin the season.
